CALENDAR CHECK LIST


9 TO 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO YOUR WEDDING DAY

  • Determine your budget and how costs will be shared
  • Discuss the style, size and location of the wedding you want
  • Set a date
  • Choose your Marriage Celebrant
  • Visit and book your ceremony and reception venues
  • Start browsing for your wedding gown
  • Start compiling a guest list


6 TO 9 MONTHS PRIOR TO YOUR WEDDING DAY

  • Choose the members of your wedding party
  • Hire a photographer
  • Book a florist
  • Book a caterer (if not included in your reception venue hire)
  • Book your music for the reception (band, solo musician, DJ)
  • Look at wedding ring designs
  • Book your bridal cars
  • Select your wedding gown ( leave ample time for delivery and alterations)
  • Shop for bridesmaid's dresses
  • Look at wedding cake designs
  • Start planning your honeymoon


4 TO 6 MONTHS PRIOR TO YOUR WEDDING DAY

  • Finalise your guest list
  • Order your invitations and other wedding stationery (place cards and thank you notes)
  • Start browsing for make up and hair stylists
  • Finalise honeymoon details (if travelling internationally, check passports visas etc)


2 TO 4 MONTHS PRIOR TO YOUR WEDDING DAY

  • Ensure all legal paperwork is signed off with your Celebrant
  • Order suits for the groom and groomsmen
  • Meet with the cater and go over menus and wine selections
  • Order your wedding cake
  • Order your wedding rings
  • If you plan on writing your own wedding vows, start now!


4 TO 8 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR WEDDING DAY

  • Mail out your wedding invitations (at least 6-8 weeks prior)
  • Have a hair and make up run through
  • Confirm transport for the bridal party


2 TO 4 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR WEDDING DAY

  • Organise your seating arrangements for the reception
  • Confirm all details with the photographer, florist and limousine
  • Have final fitting for your bridal gown and bridesmaid's dresses
  • Purchase gifts for the bridal party
  • Confirm where bride, groom and attendants will dress for the ceremony
  • Hens and Bucks night events


1 WEEK PRIOR TO YOU YOUR WEDDING DAY

  • Give the caterer a final head count
  • Ensure all fees have been paid to vendors
  • Appoint someone to handle any last minute problems
  • Organise something old (symbolises continuity with family and heritage)
  • Organise something new (symbolises optimism and hope for the new life ahead)
  • Organise something borrowed (an item from a happily married friend or family member)
  • Organised something blue (symbolises love and fidelity)


THE DAY BEFORE YOUR WEDDING DAY

  • Pack for your honeymoon
  • Attend ceremony rehearsal
  • Give gifts to the bridal party
  • Make sure the rings are boxed ready to give to the best man or ring bearer
  • Enjoy a relaxed evening meal with family
  • Try and get some rest


WEDDING DAY

  • Relax and remain calm
  • Remember to eat something
  • Allow at least three hours for getting dressed and photos
